How Your Donation Could Help

Your donation helps older adults live safely and independently. While funds support our mission as a whole, here are examples of how contributions can make an impact:

  • $10 could provide a nutritious home-delivered meal to a homebound senior.
  • $25 could fund one hour of in-home services such as bathing, dressing assistance, cleaning, or laundry.
  • $50 could provide meals and wellness check-ins for a homebound senior for one week.
  • $100 could offer a caregiver much-needed respite, ensuring their loved one is in good hands.
  • $200 could provide a month’s worth of meals for a homebound senior.
  • $500 could cover in-home services and meals for an older Iowan for one month.
  • $5,000 could help build a ramp, improving home accessibility for an older adult.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I give? Private donations from caring people like you help bridge the ever-broadening gap between need and enough resources to meet that need. Your support goes directly to helping Milestones sustain and grow programs and services critically needed by older Iowans across our 17-county service area covering Southeast Iowa. Watch: How your donation furthers our mission.

How will my donation be used? With your help, older adults in need of meals can be removed from waitlists and start receiving the regular daily nutrition needed to keep them healthy and independent. Those in need of help at home can receive homemaker services or weekly help with their personal care needs; caregivers can get that desperately needed few hours of respite each week. Someone who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford it can receive a personal emergency response system for health and security. These are just a few examples of how your dollars are put to work providing the simple – but critical – help needed by so many to remain safe at home.

What are sustaining donors? Becoming a sustaining donor is easy and convenient. Regular monthly donations provide a reliable resource for service planning and require no extra effort or “remembering” on your part! Remember: As a 501(c)3 organization, your donation to Milestones is tax deductible for the calendar year in which it was made.
