Program Information

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is a Congressionally-authorized program administered by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services. SFMNP vouchers are distributed by the Area Agencies on Aging June 1 through September 30 on a first-come-first served basis.

 

Voucher Amount

  • Eligible participants receive ten vouchers totaling $50 once per program year.
  • Vouchers are valid through October 31.

 

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, individuals must:

  • Be 60 years of age or older (born in or before 1966)
  • Live within the Milestones service area
  • Meet income guidelines:
    $29,526 or less for a household of one
    $40,034 or less for a household of two

 

How to Get Vouchers
There are several easy ways to apply:

 

When Will You Receive the Vouchers

  • Vouchers will be mailed after June 1.
  • Please note that, due to call volume, Milestones staff will not be able to check the status of individual applications prior to July 1.
